Tables and Lamps

I made “Three Tall Lamps” to be used in a vaulting industrial space during special public events. Light was needed at a human scale that could be arranged with tables and chairs as required. I used simple rustic construction techniques and unrefined materials to compliment the raw space. The pegs were left long so the extra cord could be coiled and hung up out of the way but also are to be used to hang hats, purses and coats. I added the black paint to keep the observers eye contained on the piece. Like a frame around a painting. The location demands they have presence and their function requires warmth and approachability.
